Top 10 Event
IMPORTANT UPDATE AS OF WEDNESDAY EVENING
YET ANOTHER LOCATION CHANGE FOR THE TOP TEN EVENT!
The Top Ten Event is still starting on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 4:30 PM but has been moved to Ring 16. (This is the same ring being used for the Specialty on Friday.)
So come, hang out in the shade and watch the Top 10 judging.
Top Ten Invitations were sent to those dogs who, according to the Canine Chronicle (AKC) statistics, finished in the top ten places in 2022 for Breed, All Breed and National Owner Handled Series categories.
Each dog will be shown individually to a musical selection of the owner’s choice. There are three judges selected by the Show Committee who shall remain a secret until the day of show. One is a breeder judge, one is a handler, and one is a licensed judge who is not judging Greyhounds at the all breed shows. Their scores are combined and tallied to select the overall winner, along with a 'Peoples’ Choice' vote based on those attending the event.
A reception of light appetizers hosted by Scott Thomson (Greycott) and Bobby Unger (Shylo) will follow the judging. The two winners will be announced on Friday, September 8th, at the specialty banquet Friday evening at McCarty's Restaurant at the Eaton Country Club.
Bring $10 for the very special Top Ten Catalog which features a photograph of each invited dog, a three-generation pedigree, the breeder, owner and handler, and a description of the dog and its accomplishments.

Specialty Lure Coursing

Location: Zoiboyz Ranch / 2115 Curtis Road / Peyton CO
Pre-entries close: September 5, 2023 at 6:00 PM MDT
Notes:
-- ZoiBoyz ranch in Peyton, Colorado is approximately 2.5 hours south of the show site in Greeley
-- This will be a 'sunrise' trial with gate entries closing at 6:30 am and inspection and roll call following quickly after
-- Lure coursing participants might want to stay in the Colorado Springs area Saturday night to be present for the early inspection and roll call
-- The Sunday greyhound health clinics will be scheduled late enough to allow lure coursing participants to drive up after the trial and take part, and Evergreen Kennel Club will be requesting a late ring time for greyhounds

Cost: FREE and shipping to OFA will be subsidized by the GCA
Prior to the specialty:
- Fill out the application at OFA and submit it in order to have bar code labels for the samples
- Send an email to Cindy Sisson to get on the list for the blood draw
- Be sure to bring the bar code labels to the specialty so the samples can be mailed
Maximum of 30 dogs will have blood drawn -- act now!
Greyhound only OFA Eye Exams
Saturday, 9/9/2023, about 3:00 PM (after breed judging)
or Sunday, 9/10/2023, about 4:30 PM (after breed judging)

Cost: FREE to greyhounds contributing a DNA cheek swab to research
